CLOCK TOWER
This is the clock tower of the old Courthouse in Knox. Tn. You cant get to it from where I was. This is the best photo i could get.
John Warton's Comments:
The picture is slightly out-of-focus. It also appears to be
suffering from camera blur. Make sure you use a fast shutter speed to allow
crispness. Thank for taking the time to share your photo with the community.

The Donatelo
This was shot of a inside part of the Donatelo Renaissance Architecture in Firenze Italy. This was shot from inside the courtyard through both archway. The use of a Nikon D70s and a polarizer filter.
John Warton's Comments:
I enjoy the structure’s character from the years of time.
The beauty is captured well in the photograph. The inside portion of the structure
seems to be extremely noisy. Try to keep the noise to a minimum by using a low
ISO. Please submit your picture next time with the largest dimension at 800
pixels. Thank you for competing with the Photo Challenge.

Willard Library
This library was built as a repository for abolishonist literature in the 1800's. It is said now to be haunted by the disinherited daughter of the owner, Willard Carpenter. This picure was taken before dawn. During the shooting the lights on the lower level came on.
Oh well. Hope you enjoy.
John Warton's Comments:
The lights inside help add to the attention of the classic
structure. I would darken the bright light in the bottom right. Thanks for
resizing the picture appropriately and sharing with the community.

San Juan
Taken with Canon EOS rebel, F-11 1/250th sec. ISO 400, focal legnth 55mm
John Warton's Comments:
The composition angle with a tight framing of the buildings
is excellent. The colors of the buildings are bright but the exposure makes
them darker than they really are. If the picture was one stop brighter it would
be better technically. Please make sure you follow the rules and guidelines by
submitting the largest dimension of the photo at a maximum of 800 pixels. Thank
you for sharing with the community.

Ephesus Library
Looking through an arch at the magnificent library! I liked how the shadow was on the arch with the sunlight hitting the pillars
John Warton's Comments:
I like the framing of the archway against the brighter
pillars. The green trees and blue sky also helps to create a good composition. Please
make sure you follow the rules and guidelines by submitting the largest
dimension of the photo at a maximum of 800 pixels. Thank you for sharing with
the community.

In the 1800s in New Brunswick Canada
I took this photo with a Sony Cyber Shot 2 years ago while in South Eastern New Brunswick visiting my family. This is part of a recreated typical town in the 1800s in Acadie.
John Warton's Comments:
I like the bright colors of the buildings. They grab my
attention while the clothes line give me more to pay attention too. Next time
please submit your largest dimension at a maximum of 800 pixels. As always,
thanks for sharing with the community.

City Hall
This is a capture of our City Hall, I thought that at the time of day this was taken best shows it's 100 year old architecture.
John Warton's Comments:
I like the symmetrical balance of the building. For a good
exposure on a beautiful scene like this, use a tripod and take one picture
exposed for the clouds and one for the trees. You can later blend the two
pictures in post-production with Adobe Photoshop or a free program like Gimp. Thank
for taking the time to share your photo with the community.

This is a building at Ursinus College. To be honest, I have no idea what it's for.
John Warton's Comments:
I enjoy the beauty of the green grass and the historical
building. Buildings like this one have a rich history that I would love to
know. Thank for taking the time to share your photo with the community.

I took this picture at Falls Park in Greenville SC. I have inverted the colors and given it a slight tint to emphasize the architectural features and give a unique quality.
John Warton's Comments:
The negative tones play with the mind and make me pay
attention to the picture. Next time please submit your largest dimension at a
maximum of 800 pixels. As always, thanks for sharing with the community.

Imitation Twins
At first glance it would appear as if the twin towers had been re-built.I captured this in Manhattan while doing a partial tour of the city. The clouds wrapped around the towers added a nice erie touch.
John Warton's Comments:
The clouds appear to add beauty and remind me of smoke from
the horrible tragedy on 9/11. For a good exposure on a beautiful scene like
this, use a tripod and take one picture exposed for the clouds and one for the towers.
You can later blend the two pictures in post-production with Adobe Photoshop or
a free program like Gimp. Thanks for resizing the picture appropriately and
sharing with the community.
