This was taken in downtown Tampa

Before i moved from my hometown of Tampa Florida i went downtown where i had worked for many years and photographed alot of the buildings there now..this is one of the photos i took there...
John Warton's Comments:

The tight framing of the building helps to draw attention inward. Yet the attention should be place on the dome and cross. Instead I find my attention goes to the brighter section of the building to the left. If you darken the left part and dodge the dome, the emphasis should be back on the dome. Please make sure you follow the rules and guidelines by submitting the largest dimension of the photo at a maximum of 800 pixels. Thank you for sharing with the community.

“The pride of the peacock is the glory of God."

"“The pride of the peacock is the glory of God." captioned photograph was taken at Grand Palace, Bangkok. (The Grand Palace is a complex of buildings in Bangkok, Thailand. It served as the official residence of the Kings of Thailand from the 18th century onwards....) Sameer Grover an architect working in Singapore

I enjoy the bright and bold colors with the tiled roof. I would try to darken the left portion of the scene to keep the eye from drifting too much attention to the brighter sky. Thank for taking the time to share your photo with the community.

  Ring of Kerry Ireland

Abandoned castle on the tour of "Ring of Kerry" in Southern Ireland. Taken September 2009.
John Warton's Comments:

The castles shows signs of age that could tell a story. The composition is simple and pleasing. You could try darkening the highlights in the clouds to average the exposure. Thank for taking the time to share your photo with the community.

  Wachovia Building Raleigh NC

This building towers high over the streets of downtown Raleigh into the clear blue sky.
John Warton's Comments:

Your angle is different than most pictures of buildings. I like the simple blue sky and lighting. It might have been nice to see some reflections of clouds in the glass to create even more interest. Thank for taking the time to share your photo with the community.

  inviting?

Taken at Robin Hoods bay, North Yorkshire, England
John Warton's Comments:

The lighting combined with careful dodging and burning make for excellent qualities and set the somber mood for the picture. It reminds me of something from the sad portions of the Christmas Carol. Thank you for sharing your comments and your properly sized photo with the community.

Your image has simple characteristics that makes for a good composition. At 100% view the building is very soft and unfocused. One of the advantages of resizing to 800 pixels is the image appears sharper for website presentation. Thank you for sharing your photo with the community.

Part of ruins of San Jose Mission

Taken with Nikon Coolpix 8700 on tripod. Lot of burning and dodging in photoshop
John Warton's Comments:

This has an art piece look and feel to the image. I like the contrast and the tight framing of the different archways. Thank you for sharing your comments and your properly sized photo with the community.

  The old chapel

a traditional chapel in Portugal.
John Warton's Comments:

The position of the building compliments well with the blue sky and grey road. Our attention is driven to the church building because of size and brightness. The cityscape in the background helps to tell and story and give perspective. Thank you for sharing your comments and your properly sized photo with the community.

  Old school Archtecture

A old homsted in WV.Look at the old sanstone rocks under the porch used for the foundation. The chairs and tools on porch are all hand maid. Love it.
John Warton's Comments:

I like the lighting in the scene. Unfortunately the exposure is about a stop too bright. This loses detail information in the brighter portions of the scene. Because of digital photography’s limited contrast range, it might be better to take several exposures and then combine then later. Please make sure you follow the rules and guidelines by submitting the largest dimension of the photo at a maximum of 800 pixels. Thank you for sharing with the community.
