Snoopy's Ice Arena, Santa Rosa, CA
This was built by Charles "Snoopy" Schultz, several years ago. It is a very beautiful building, and I had a hard time getting the full building. It is a really large building. The Sun was bright, and the colour was penetrating.
John Warton's Comments:
The lighting appears low enough to be pleasing in its angle.
I would have tilted the camera higher to show less of the pavement and more of
the sky and light post. One of the advantages of resizing to 800 pixels is the
image appears sharper for website presentation. Thank you for sharing your
photo with the community.

I love the colors on this, the lines, and the buildings reflecting off of one another
John Warton's Comments:
The low lighting creates a warm, pleasing appeal to the
picture. The framing of the trees helps
bring the attention inward. It might have been better to include a little more
tree though. Thank for taking the time to share your photo with the community.

looking upward...
standing in between 2 office buildings.
i looked up and saw this.
the sky was so blue..
John Warton's Comments:
The blue sky also is pleasing when seen in a darker form as
reflections. The angle shows great perspective and good framing. Your photograph
is well worth showing off, but please make sure you follow the rules and
guidelines by submitting the largest dimension of the photo at a maximum of 800
pixels. Thank you for sharing with the community.

The Southern Mansion
This is a wonderful historic bed and breakfast in Cape May NJ
John Warton's Comments:
The picture has soft lighting on the building which helps
place the appropriate emphasis. The colors also make it interesting. If the sky
had some clouds or colors it would help compliment the subject. Please make
sure you follow the rules and guidelines by submitting the largest dimension of
the photo at a maximum of 800 pixels. Thank you for sharing with the community.

St. Louis Spirit Shot 2009
This shot was taken during a November trip to St. Louis, MO. It was raining, and as I stood under an awning, the awesome reflections caught my eye. I captured it just as it was seen through my lens. I love this Holiday photo, it captures architecture and design with a splash of color to top off the new season!
John Warton's Comments:
I like the symmetrical shot and the beauty of the lighting.
Your exposure seems a little bright. One suggestion would be to lower your ISO
to lower the large amount of noise in your picture. Night photography does not
need a high sensitivity because of the long exposure. Please make sure you
follow the rules and guidelines by submitting the largest dimension of the
photo at a maximum of 800 pixels. Thank you for sharing with the community.

UNDER THE BRIDGE
I took this photo while passing. It is one of two bridges that lead to the south part of town where I live. The North East and West are on the other side of this bridge. I am fascinated by these 2 brides because they are so old and being reinforced every 10 yrs. or so. Keeping us like a little city within the city.
John Warton's Comments:
The silhouette of the bridge creates a mood that enhances
the overall picture. I like the gradient of the blue to white in the sky. It
might also be nice to use a HDR effect to allow some of the bridge to have
visible detail. Thank you for sharing
your comments and your properly sized photo with the community.

Ruins of Old Sheldon Church
This church was originally built in 1745-55. Burned by the British in 1779, rebuilt in 1826 and burned down again in 1865 by the Federal Army. Located in South Carolina. There are services held there once a year, the second Sunday after Easter.
John Warton's Comments:
The leaning tree creates interest and helps create a sub-interest
to the structure. The lighting is good to place the emphasis inside the
building’s walls. This is a good picture, but next time please submit the photo
with the largest dimension at a maximum of 800 pixels. As always, thanks for
sharing with the community.

The Ghost House
On my trip to upstate New York I came across this old abandoned house and snap a couple of pictures. Later when I processed the pictures I saw an errie shape in the window of all the pictures I took of the house.
John Warton's Comments:
The picture has an excellent appearance with the painting
techniques. It also helps to hide any imperfections of the camera. I really
like the presentation but next time please submit your largest dimension at a
maximum of 800 pixels. As always, thanks for sharing with the community.

This is the front of Lowes Motor Speedway
You can find about anything inside of the building-ticket stand, gift shop, resturant and the best seat in the house. JJ
John Warton's Comments:
I enjoy the building of the building and the inclusion of
the many flags. Your depth of field, which is determined by the aperture, puts
the emphasis on the American flag and the building. Try to crop to straighten the
picture. As is it is slightly titled. Please make sure you follow the rules and
guidelines by submitting the largest dimension of the photo at a maximum of 800
pixels. Thank you for sharing with the community.

Midtown New York City
On my last trip to New York, I tried to see it from alot of different angles
John Warton's Comments:
The wide angle distortion helps to add to the vast size of
the buildings. The slight vignette on the edges also helps to hold the viewer’s
interest. Without the vignette the bright background of the sky would overpower
the beauty of the darker structures. Thank for taking the time to share your
photo with the community.
