Through the Trees |
| After a storm the light reflecting through the trees of a flooded park caught my eyes. |
| John Warton's Comments: |
The trees are excellent subjects that are made even more interesting by seeing their reflections. You could increase the mid-tones to bring out more detail in the trees. Thanks for resizing the picture appropriately and sharing with the community.

Sunlight Reflection |
| Nothing more natural than the sun giving off it's lighting effects through the clouds. This to me was a double effect - first with the sky itself, then with the sunglasses. ☺ |
| John Warton's Comments: |
I love the cleaver concept of using the sunglasses for your framing. The slight vignette and border only make the photograph stronger and more impacting. Your photograph is excellent, but next time submit the picture with the largest dimension at 800 pixels or less. This helps reduce bandwidth and precious downloading time. Thanks for taking the Photo Challenge.

Flowing Light #04 |
| Poured water down my arm, set camera on self-timing; no flash, at f/5.6, 1/30 sec, ISO-800. |
| John Warton's Comments: |
The backlighting creates an excellent half silhouette which sets a mysterious mood. It took me a few seconds to figure out the picture. This helped make the photo more interesting. Your helpful photographic comments and proper resizing are appreciated on the Photo Challenge. Keep snapping and keep taking the challenge.

Mama |
| Taken in a dark barn with a single spotlight. |
| John Warton's Comments: |
What a touching relationship between mother and child. The focusing appears pretty good but could be improved by using a sharpening filter. One of the advantages of resizing to 800 pixels is the image appears sharper for website presentation. Thank you for sharing your photo with the community.

Natural Glows From A Sunset |
| Taken in Pennsylvania at Lake Onletlaunee, near Leesport. Take with a Canon SX100IS. |
| John Warton's Comments: |
The colors of the sunset are beautiful and the quiet waters extremely peaceful. The rule of thirds works well to keep the interest in the sky and not the trees. You probably could have increased the exposure to make everything slightly brighter. Thanks for taking the time to share your photo with the community.

Sunset Kiss |
| I took this photo of my friend and her new husband on their wedding day. The sun was going down and the light made a perfict Silhouette |
| John Warton's Comments: |
I really enjoy the contrast and placement of the sun against the lovely couple. The picture has excellent qualities. When I viewed the picture at 100% I noticed small black specks throughout the frame. I believe there are spots on your sensor caused by dust. Be careful when changing lenses to minimize allowing particles into your camera. Thankfully the spots can easily be removed in a program like Photoshop. Make sure you submit your largest dimension at a maximum of 800 pixels. Thank for your submission and sharing with the community. John Warton

South Australia River Lizard |
| This great australia outback lizard was taken on Murray river south australia Feb 17.02.2010 The lizard is about 44.2cm long for a baby lizard. |

| John Warton's Comments: |
The exposure and focusing on the iguana are excellent. The "hotspot" on the right portion of the rock is very distracting. I find my eye is drawn to the rock first because it is so bright. You could try darkening the highlights in the bottom right to place more attention on the iguana. Make sure you submit your largest dimension at a maximum of 800 pixels. You Light Me Up |
| This is a 4 inch square cube of Hamelayan salt. I placed a remote flashe behind the cube that was sitting on black velour. I used natural lighting from the front and with the remote flash it just lite up the cube. Thank you and enjoy |

I would have to say the subject is extremely unique. The slight green edge adds a spark of color contrast to the yellow block of salt. Thanks for resizing the picture appropriately and sharing with the community. John Warton

Warm Glow |
| This was taken last fall up at camp. Its located in Elders ridge Pa. I just love the fall colors and taking plenty of pics of the beauty that surrounds us. |
| John Warton's Comments: |
The colors in the scene really pop out of the picture. It appears that your exposure is a little too dark. If the exposure was 1/2 stop brighter, the darker portions would have more detail. When I view your picture at 100% size the picture also looks slightly out of focus on the front trees. One of the advantages of resizing to 800 pixels is the image appears sharper for website presentation. Thank you for sharing your photo with the community. John Warton

Everything looks beautiful and different than normal because of the backlighting. You might consider dodging (selectively lightening) the bee's body. Thanks for resizing the picture appropriately and sharing with the community. John Warton
